Parking place art

St. John's is the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador. You find everything of a big city here: parking problems (although not after closing time), a lot of shops, restaurants, bars (even some without Celtic music) and of course a fort-like something. This one is called Signal Hill, and you can see the whole city from the tower.

A local hobby is berry picking. When arriving at St. John's we saw a lot of cars standing on the hard shoulder of the highway. At first we didn't understand, but then we realised it was Saturday and they belonged to people who went berry picking: mostly blue berries and partridge berries. You can make lovely jam out of them, as we found out at breakfast.
